This is a lesson I have to remind myself all the time. I can be a control freak, which stems from not trusting others to do the job right, which ultimately stems from my pride.
But I am learning. I like to think I’m getting better. And its only scripture that is changing things.
None of us is as smart as all of us.
I struggle to read about the church or Peter/Paul and seeing only a few leading the church. Peter instructs the church by saying “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10, ESV). If that’s the case, the church is never meant to be for spectating. If that’s what you or I do on a Sunday, then we aren’t really doing Church.
So my question to you… at your church do you feel more like a spectator or a participator?
