A Core Value of Resonate Atlanta is Authentic Community

If you have questions why we don't do traditional 'small groups', I encourage you to read this first.
God made us to be connected to one another in Biblical fellowship. At Resonate, we grow and mature as followers of Christ in the context of togetherness. As our church grows, we want to continue to offer these places of belonging to people, so that they can be known in name and nature, experiencing biblical fellowship with one another in Christ.
We accomplish this biblical fellowship by intentionally pursuing Christ together and by sharing in one another’s lives. The best way to describe a LifeGroup is a core of people who are being transformed by the gospel that commit to living out God’s mission together by demonstrating and declaring the gospel in tangible ways to each other and to their world.
LifeGroups at Resonate are never closed. All groups, regardless of demographic information, are open to anyone desiring to be involved. We hope that you find a place to belong!

Frequently Asked Questions About LifeGroups
Common questions about doing life together throughout the week.
What does a LifeGroup look like?
We believe sustained life change happens best in smaller community. A Life Group is made up of a cluster of individuals based upon geography that meet together on a frequent basis in homes in our community.
It is in a LifeGroup where you will find a core of people who are being transformed by the gospel that commit to living out God’s mission together by demonstrating and declaring the gospel in tangible ways to each other and to their world.
How much of my time is this going to take?
LifeGroup meetings typically last approximately 1.5 hours each, though will vary from group to group, and week to week. As LifeGroup members begin to develop community, they most likely will want to spend even more time together.
What are we going to do with our children during LifeGroup?
Every LifeGroup takes a different approach to childcare. Please contact the LifeGroup leader for direct information on how they handle childcare.
Am I going to have to talk or can I just sit and listen during meetings?
LifeGroups are like family - sometimes you talk, sometimes you listen. No one is forced to talk or to lead the group. As the group develops, people become much more comfortable. We have discovered that people who seldom speak up in large groups will talk in LifeGroups.
Will I have to pray out loud?
No. Again, you are allowed to move, grow, at your own pace. When you want to share a prayer concern or pray out loud, you will be encouraged to do so.
Who else is going to be in the group?
LifeGroups are formed by the leader inviting friends, neighbors or acquaintances to be a part of the group. At the end of 6 weeks each person can choose to continue with the group or not. This allows you time to try a LifeGroup, but you also have the assurance that there is a comfortable way out.
How much do I have to know about the Bible?
None. LifeGroups are all about learning the Bible not debating it or being tested on it. There will be seasons when all LifeGroups will study curriculum that coincides with the sermon series. This is when the greatest personal spiritual growth happens. This is reason enough to want to be in a LifeGroup.
If I don't like it, can I leave without people being mad at me?
Yes, but most people build such community that they do not want to stop being part of the LifeGroup.
